Hi, Chad,

Ahhh----summer! Time to kick back, look back on the successes of the
year.

I'd like to join your group so that as I look ahead to next year I get
more of an idea of what others are doing with gr. 8 Algebra.

I teach at Our Lady of Victory School on the west side of Cincinnati.
I teach enrichment groups in gr. 3-7 and algebra in gr. 8. We use
Glencoe 2008 which is just the next edition of your textbook. It's
sooooooo long that it's hard to fit everything in. Now that I've
taught algebra for 2 years, it's time to start compacting some of it
in order to allow time for the really good problem-solving stuff.

That's it for now, just wanted to introduce myself.

Hi Anne!

Welcome. It may be a bit slow around here over the summer, but I'm
still at it! I have a very long "to do" list this summer and have
already begun. My main project is to record pre-requisite skills
videos for YouTube. That way, I can link them to my school website and
have students review "adding fractions" and such at their leisure.

I'm also looking at my first 2 units (prob & stats) with a critical
eye and trying to make certain that I've got just what the OAA wants
and nothing else. I do this every year, but I somehow always find
places to tighten up.

I hope your summer is going well! Thanks for joining the group.

Chad
