Hello entrepreneurs.

Well, we made it through Demo Day.  As usual - and expected - I heard from many people who have attended multiple Demo Days over the years and yep, this one was the best.  What did I tell you?  But don't take my word for it, here are just two sample comments from the recent survey of those who attended:

The quality of companies continues to improve... this latest crop solves more complex and difficult problems.

The pitches did a great job conveying the underlying businesses and opportunities. There were a number of companies that I wasn’t interested in before Demo Day, that I’m following now, solely due to their presentations.

So yes, it's all about the traction.

Speaking of which - below are two links that should help you market your company following Demo Day.  One is the link to the radio interview you did for Tech Vibe Radio.  The second is the list of national journalists who attended a media tour in Pittsburgh that culminated with Demo Day.  Of the tour group, these are the journalists who saw the presentations in the first half of Demo Day:

Vivian Giang, Fast Company

Mohana Ravindranath, Politico

Kyle Wiggers, VentureBeat

Ullrich Umann, Germany Trade & Invest

Shawn Schmitt, Medtech Insight

The others had to jump off to catch a flight - but that doesn't mean you can't reach out to them.  If your presentation was in the second half, you can send your video link with a pitch about why you're solving a big issue they care about.  If the reporter missed Demo Day altogether, you can send them your link and highlight how you fit into the theme of the tour that brought them here: Pioneers. Problem Solvers. Pittsburgh. They had a full two days in Pittsburgh focused on robotics and life sciences - so if you fit into those themes, you can say so.  If your technology is in a different industry, you can still reference what they saw in Pittsburgh.  In all cases, you should follow these writers and their publications and consider them for future media contacts.  If you need help thinking through how to pitch to these reporters, let's talk.

Your video link is coming shortly, as is the link to the evening's photographs.  Stay tuned.

Terri
