Integrating a PDF document merger software into Alfresco application

Good day Everyone, 

I hope this email meets you well. 

A Client brought an idea to my attention and I decided to post it here and get feedback from anyone who has experienced this or is working on something like this.

There is a software called "PDF Merge" software, what it does is to merge pdf documents together, they could be the same type or different types, it just merges the documents together.

A Client was asking me whether it is possible to integrate that kind of software into the Alfresco EDMS application, so that from Alfresco you could click on a button in a document folder called "merge" and it would redirect you/call up the merge software from inside Alfresco application, which would then execute the merge activity and take the document back to the document folder in Alfresco.

I would love to ask, has anyone thought of this or is anyone working on something like this, please I would be willing to discuss if the person wants to share.
