Hello List,
This is a very important subject, whether Cinema, which was technically possible only at the beginning of the twentieth century, which is now becoming the principal mode of communication among the young, produce smarter youngsters? Can the power of words, written down by Homer and passed on to Socretes, Plato and Aristotle, be replaced by the new tool of Cinema? No one is denying that many presentations can be done better in Cinematic format .......Yet .........

- Can Newton's three laws of motion be presented more succinctly in Cinematic format?

- Can this foolish poem be bettered:

No man is an island,

Entire of itself;

Every man is a piece of the continent,

A part of the main.

If a clod bee washed away by the sea,

Europe is the less,

As well as if a promontory were:

As well as if a manor of thy friend's

Or of thine own were.

Any man's death diminishes me,

Because I am involved in mankind.

And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;

It tolls for thee.

- Many FM's phrases challenge our understanding of what he was trying to convey.
