Alex:

I've seen lots of videos on YouTube and one news clip of people online who have had sent a sample of their DNA to ancestry.com and then inadvertently found out that they had biological siblings they didn't know existed, sons and daughters and that people have found out that they were adopted by seeing that ancestry.com matched their DNA to their biological parents.

In other words, they just wanted to see what their ethnic background is and they didn't know that ancestry.com shows them people who are related to them.

Or the TV show Long Lost Family can find him or her, but you would have to go on the show.

If they have any kids, AncestryDNA will probably match them as grandparent/grandchild. I watched a video on YouTube a few weeks ago explaining how to use ancestry.com.
