Extended Window for Feedback: Rt. 29 Safety Improvements

Rt 29 for VDOT STARS Study

The Virginia Department of Transportation's (VDOT) Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions (STARS) study is assessing potential safety, operational, transit and bicycle/pedestrian improvements along the approximately mile-long stretch of Langston Boulevard (Route 29) between North Veitch Street and North Lynn Street.

This feedback will be used to help develop potential alternatives that will be evaluated and presented during the second round of public involvement scheduled in late 2025.

Within the study limits, Langston Boulevard averages 12,000 vehicles a day. It has a 40 mph posted speed limit between North Veitch Street and North Nash Street, and a 30 mph posted speed limit between North Nash Street and North Lynn Street.

Share your feedback through Wednesday, March 19 on the study page under "Public Involvement."

Give Feedback on the Next Phase of Envisioning Arlington's Transportation Future

Are we on the right path for transportation planning? The County used community input to develop a draft vision and goals for the next transportation plan.

Does the draft vision reflect your ideal future for Arlington? Do the draft goals include your priorities? Is there anything missing from the draft vision and goals?

Join the conversation online or in-person to share your feedback by Sunday, March 23!

Crystal City Metro East Entrance Construction Update

This month, the Crystal City East Entrance project reached the bottom of the excavation from the street surface at the intersection of Crystal Drive and 18th Street South, which will connect to the future mezzanine at the east end of the train platforms.

Next steps in the project will include preparation for excavation on the interior of the Crystal City Metro station to build the mezzanine. Service impacts will be communicated as they are determined.
