Thanks for doing this and I look forward to joining the event.
Of course, Sunday morning at 10 am may be the safest time for a family ride.
Perhaps that was the planners' thinking.
But do you think for bicyclists and non-bicyclists to appreciate the challenges of the current corridor, perhaps a cadre of a few brave riders, even with cameras, could ride the route during the workday or even at rush hour?
We currently avoid it during those hours as much as possible, but I'd be willing to do it in the interest of Science and Humanity! :-)
Regarding Elizabeth's good suggestion to promote the ride in the neighborhoods being most vocal against the project: That seems to be Rosemont, and principally the abutters on Braddock itself.
However, Rosemont and the abutters are not homogeneous in this regard. We are in Rosemont, 2 blocks from Braddock, I have met a few proponents of the living on-or-adjacent-to Braddock, and there are also an (indeterminate) number of people in the neighborhood who support it.
I'm willing to advocate a petition in favor of the Corridor Project on the Rosemont neighborhood list, if there is such a petition. Maybe one specifically for Rosemont and Del Ray would be most effective.
You may know that others have mentioned the petition in opposition (appeal) (called "
Save Braddock Rd. Parking & Accessibility") many times on the Rosemont list, and they reportedly have gathered a thousand signatures.
It's a bit ironic that this "Save the Parking" petition is on "Change.org", but I guess there is no "StatusQuo.org!"
Thank you
Paul
