Three upcoming public virtual meetings on VDOT’s Route 1 Multimodal Feasibility Improvements Study

You are welcome and encouraged to attend the following 3 virtual meetings that will address VDOT’s Route 1 plans:

• Joint Arlington County BAC-PAC Meeting: The County Bicycle Advisory Committee and Pedestrian Advisory Committee are holding a joint meeting on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, 7:00 PM. Click here to join the meeting. The draft agenda is here. Note that at 7:15 PM, Dan Reinhard will begin a discussion of VDOT’s Phase 2 plans for Route 1, followed by time for Q&A.

• The Crystal City Civic Association is hosting a virtual community meeting with the Livability 22202 Route 1 Working Group on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 7:00 PM. The program will feature Route 1 Working Group speakers discussing Working Group proposals for an at-grade Route 1 at 18^th, a proposed design for a Route 1 boulevard, and concerns about a Route 1 TDM (Transportation Demand Management) program. The program will include time for Q&A and audience polling to gather feedback on how the community feels about the Phase 2 VDOT study and its proposals. Preregister for the meeting here.

• Finally, VDOT will be hosting its second virtual Public Information Meeting (PIM #2) on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 6:30 PM. Preregister through this link. During this meeting, VDOT will present ideas for the ROW (right of way) for an at-grade urban boulevard, e.g. what will be the components and dimensions of the streetscape.
