Together we can build a mass international movement Thanks again to all who came to, watched or supported Saturday's terrific International Conference Against War. It was undoubtedly a leap forward for the international movement. This was underlined yesterday with the million strong Spanish UGT union issuing a statement supporting the conference and the call. Read the Spanish UGT statement here Nearly three thousand people attended in person from at least 27 countries. The conference was supported by 14 UK national unions, one hundred other UK organisations and 116 regional and local union bodies. Delegates attended from the CGT union branch of the biggest hospital complex in Europe in Paris, from the Federation of Industry of the Spanish CCOO, the Dockworkers in Piraeus Greece and many many more. You can watch the conference here Conference agreed a statement and a call to action. • For a co-ordinated day of demonstrations for Palestine on Saturday 10 October. • For demonstrations and protests against militarism, conscription and for welfare not warfare on Saturday and Sunday 21/22 November. • To suppoprt the international dockers day of action when it is announced. resistance to the drive to war. • Pass this resolution in your workplace backing the call and the actions. • Encourage other union bodies and organisations to do the same. • Organise local activist meetings pulling together trade unionists and others to start building the actions. • Send us details of widening support.
