Lastly, the Maker Rankings tab featured a top 100 of course makers ranked by a certain category: total stars, number of world records, number of first clears, or number of 100 Mario Challenge clears. Users could also view similarly-organized course rankings,[40] although this feature was removed prior to the website shutting down.

@Nintendo_Thumb Hey there! I saw you played my 24 course Complex Simplicity series on Wii U. I have released a 55 course enhanced remake of this series in Mario Maker 2, Complex Simplicity +, and I'd love for you to give it another shot. The first 40 courses are in the superworld format, but you must manually start the remaining 15 from my profile.

for some reason, "N" years isnt enough time for me with a game so i just never bothered with maker or 2. its a mental block, but the fun with games for me is aging with them, not necessarily playing them "in their time."

A Yoshi is a species of dinosaur in the Mario games. A player can ride a Yoshi, with the controls slightly varying between games. In Super Mario World, a player can use a Yoshi to walk across spikes and gobble up enemies. In the New Super Mario Bros. series and Super Mario Galaxy 2, Yoshi can also perform a Flutter Jump by pressing and holding A. The player's horizontal momentum will be reduced greatly in exchange for a bit of upwards momentum. It lasts until the player stops holding A or within a few seconds if they don't stop. In the other styles, Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3, Yoshi is swapped out with the Kuribo Shoe. A maker can force the player to ride one to the finish by setting a Clear Condition. Like the Shoe and Car, the player is able to dismount from Yoshi, gaining even more vertical height in exchange for potentially losing him. If you add a Super Mushroom to a Yoshi egg, It turns red and spawns a Red Yoshi. If you press Y while on Red Yoshi, he shoots a fireball, similar how to Yoshi shoots fireballs when he eats fire. Yoshi will shoot 3 fireballs when you have a Fire Flower. Red Yoshi will still fire while in a Koopa and Fire Clown Car.

TASBot also showed off a "total control" run of Super Mario Bros. 3, which apes infamously bad NES title Color a Dinosaur before giving Mario a variety of new super powers that include a speed boost, a "shell shield," and anti-gravity powers. The principles behind those exploits are somewhat similar to those used in the "Super Mario Maker" run, but the specific methods for controlling SMB3 are discussed in much more detail on the TASVideos site.

The archived Twitch video of TASBot's SNES "Super Mario Maker" exploit looks like magic; or at the very least the kind of thing that requires a hacked ROM or memory manipulation through a Game Genie-style device. But it's important to remember that like in the past, everything TASBot does is technically possible on standard classic game hardware and software. That is, it's possible provided you have the superhuman ability to enter precisely timed controller inputs 60 times a second.

To play locally, simply make a room and then have your friends join it on their respective consoles. If you want to play with random opponents, select co-op or versus and you will enter a matchmaking system that should match you up with other online Mario makers, setting out a gauntlet of levels for you to raise hell in.

In addition to all this chaos the maker allows, users can decide to shift between various graphic styles, including the classic 8-bit styles from the first Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3, the 16-bit graphics of Super Mario World, or the 3D vectors from New Super Mario Bros. U.

Projects such as this one make clear that both Zelda and Mario have a dedicated fanbase that is willing to use their creativity in unexpected ways to entertain fellow gamers. So, hopefully, Nintendo could release an official Zelda 2D dungeon maker to work in a similar way to its famous Super Mario Maker franchise. Unfortunately, there are no official plans for that, so Zelda fans will need to wait and play this amazing new adventure instead.

Based off of Grassinio's original piece: -mario-maker-2-smw-airship-night-conceptThe original had been floating in the back of my mind for a while, and I needed a good excuse to practice my orchestral arrangement/mixing anyway.
