The hdf5 command tool "h5dump" is pretty handy to look at the structure
of an .abc file.
Basically it allows to expand the .abc in an ascii file.
http://www.hdfgroup.org/HDF5/doc/RM/Tools.html#Tools-Dump
The opposite command, "hd5import", takes an ascii file and compress it
in an hdf5 format (so .abc I guess)
http://www.hdfgroup.org/HDF5/doc/RM/Tools.html#Tools-Import
Also, as so far the python binding for writing alembic files are still
in progress, it might be a possibility to write down a not-heavy file in
this ascii format with python and to then compress it using
hd5import../lib/Alembic/AbcCoreHDF5/ReadUtil.cpp
To test this out I have to provide the dimension sizes of the dataset.
I see that there are some methods "readDimension()" in
./lib/Alembic/AbcCoreHDF5/ReadUtil.h though before going further I'd
like to know if that's a good way to go.
