HeyI created some illustrative variable fonts, which I would like to use as moving objects in a video. Does anyone have a suggestion how I can use them in After effects except for making a quicktime player screen recording?
So my problem not really glyphs-related more on how to use it after glyphs!
Indeed, currently the interpolation between keyframes is handled by After Effects. This works for fast animations, but not for script fonts for instance. This will be addressed in an update, so the interpolation of the font can be used instead.
With the high demand for video consumption across the world, video editing has become a necessary task for most users. Even persons with general needs such as classes, presentations, meetings, etc. would need a video editor to complete their video project. A
After Effects is one of the most promising video editing applications available in the market. It facilitates its users with many editing features. One of such major functions of After Effects is it provides different fonts and text effects to its users. Here's a guide on how to add fonts to After Effects:
Adding fonts to any video editor is a crucial part because texts add a story to the video projects. They have a great impact on the cinematic quality of any video. For informative videos, the style of font decides the tone in which the texts are displayed.
Thus, selecting a proper font for the video becomes necessary in the post-production process. In the After Effects application, there are different fonts available for the users to load and use in any video. And if you are wondering how to add font in After effects to your video, then you can follow these steps:
Adobe After Effects provides a ton of families of fonts that can be added and used in video projects. These fonts are available on the Create Cloud application and also on the official website of adobe. Also, these fonts are categorized according to their height, weight, contrast as well as other attributes. And each of these fonts is shown with a preview saying "Typography" which can be selected instantly.
Some of the most famous fonts such as "typewriter", "Cursive Handwriting" and many more are categorized under their family of fonts and are very easy to access. Along with this, you can also select fonts with different character strokes and can alter their features while adding to your videos.
If for some reason you don't want to use After Effects on your device to edit your videos, or your PC is incompatible with your device, then Filmora is a great alternative for you. Filmora is a paid application that is supported on both Windows as well as Mac and comes with a free version where you can try the different video editing features.
The article discussed the detailed process of how to add font to Adobe After Effects application. The descriptive process of adding texts to video projects using After Effects have also been discussed throughout the article and the available alternatives that can help users with the same feature. I also discussed the various types of fonts that are available to the users in the application interface. These fonts are very easy to access and use. I hope this article will help in easing up the whole process of video editing using After Effects.

Note: If you want to use the Connect Fonts Web application with Safari on macOS, you will need to install our Safari extension in order to add fonts, activate or deactivate fonts, and perform other tasks. Download it from the Mac App Store.
On macOS 12, some fonts managed by Connect Fonts are not displayed correctly in the Apple applications Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. The font menu in the Format Inspector shows question marks for font names, and the document itself displays text with overlapping characters.
There are still unknowns about whether this happens only in macOS 12 that has been upgraded from macOS 11, and whether it only happens with PostScript fonts. If you are experiencing a problem like this, please submit a support request indicating that you are experiencing an issue with fonts in an Apple application on macOS 12.
The Extensis Font Panel in Adobe Photoshop does not run natively on Apple silicon systems. If you need the Font Panel in Photoshop on a Mac with Apple silicon, you can run Photoshop using Rosetta. See this article for information.
Our publishing company recently ran the InDesign update (to 15.0.2) and have discovered some major font issues. I have narrowed it down to InDesign 15.0.2, macOS Catalina 10.15.3, and Suitcase Fusion 21.0.0. I actually don't think Suitcase has too much to do with this, because the problem occurred after the InDesign update, but it's our font management software so I'm including it. Basically it appears system fonts have become problematic with InDesign. Packaged files are suddenly showing up with lots of the dreaded pink. I have tested about everything I can. I even created some very simple type only files that are having system font issues as well. Sometimes the document will open ok and the fonts will appear fine. Then when I go to export, the system fonts turn pink. Sometimes the file can't open the fonts at all and they start out and remain highlighted pink. Other times it will open but them shut off a few seconds later. It's only happening with system fonts. I have included screen shots for reference. I hope this issue can be fixed asap because it's font chaos over here! Thank you.
Running 18.2.1 and still having this problem, two files open simultaneously; one sees the font and the other doesn't see the exact same font. Bjoern's solution (below) worked at first, now not working. Please help
I'm still experiencing this issue with Helvetica Neue Bold and I'm running version 17.2! The font file type I have from my client isn't accepted when trying the "Add fonts to creative cloud" workaround and I cannot see the text in my InDesign file. Is this problem still being addressed by Adobe??
It seems like the adobe creative cloud type management is conflicting with the system installed fonts starting with release 16.x onward. We uploaded the font files to the creative cloud management ("Add fonts to creative cloud" tab in the desktop app) and then deleted the font files in the system folder (in our case windows 10). After that the fonts worked fine in adobe apps.
Also started for us with Update to 16.x. 15.x is still displaying bold fonts fine. When opening the same files in 16.x the bold font just disappears. No Error messages or missing font note upon opening the file. When will this issue be fixed?
This seems to happen frequently to me.: I have one indesign document open and all fonts are available and recognized. I will copy and paste the text box into a new InDesign document and the font shows up missing/highlighted! Very frustrating!
My fonts don't disapear but when I open files I did not create the fonts used are changing to another font...
Random???
These strange things happened 25 years ago... but I didn't expect them to appear now
Luckily I saw it before it got printed, but now I have to change and check a complete brochure
:o(
I am up to date with InDesign, I am also using Suitcase Fusion 21.3.0 (though, annoyingly, CC takes over, which I suspect is the issue) and I am on Big Sur 11.4. Something has to give as I cannot get my work done.
I'm continuing to have a similar problem, specifically with using Helvetica Neue - Bold in InDesign 16.1 on Mac Catalina. From what I understand, the Helvetica Neue.ttc font is a system font (perhaps installed by a Microsoft product on my Mac, thus a Windows font?) I've not had this problem in ID 15.x and earlier. Now, when I open any .INDD that uses this font, all the Bold text of this font simply is not displayed. I have no errors displayed nor "missing font" alerts, the text is just not displayed.
If I export a PDF of the .INDD, strangely, the bold text renders within the PDF - AND then it also all appears within the .INDD again, as normal. But when I save and close the .INDD, the problem is back when I open the file again. I know I can change to the more robust Helvetica Neue LT Std font family, but that presents its own problems for my saved INDDs (causing some missing fonts, issues with bullet and number characters, etc.) so that's a lot of tedious fixing I'd prefer to avoid.
I'm beyond furious. I am a freelance book designer wasting time going around in circles. And, no, the updates DON'T fix it. My clients have books going to press and this is holding up critical deadlines and reflecting on ME when it's not my fault. Do Adobe REALLY want us all to down tools and stop paying?
Same issue on update. Every single time Adobe! You release an update to address things nobody is asking for and ***** up something that was never broken. Quit letting your sales team drive development.
