I have implemented master server for servers list and it works in Battlefield Vietnam as long as I have not enabled including all basic keys. The thing is that I have correct implementation based on latest Gamespy client implementation as different demo apps work well with my server - with and without basic keys. So I'd be really interested if somebody has real tcp dumps (hopefully with also the secret sent by client) for port 28910 from the time gamespy was still serving.
Below you will find a list of the best / most popular servers in the world. The list includes the server rank, name, player count, location (distance from your computer), and other game-specific information.
Server rank is based on the objective popularity of a server. We calculate rank based on the amount of time players have spent on the server in the preceding seven (7) days. Ranks are re-caculated daily at 01:00 UTC. We do not take player votes or any other factor into account.
The "NR" rank means that a server is suspected of botting, inflating, or otherwise distorting its real player count. These servers are hidden from the server list by default but can appear in your term-specific searches. We advise avoiding these servers for your safety.
The "Max Distance" filter allows you to set a limit on how far away the server is from your location. We use a GeoIP database to determine both the server's physical location as well as your location. This is a useful approximation for how low your latency / ping to the server should be. Most games do not provide ping information via the query protocol, so our "Max Distance" filter should provide you with a good approximation. You can also use this to help you locate more regional servers.
I have got a 4gLTE connection that gives me 50-60 megabits down and 30 up. Yagi directional cell booster antenna on the roof. Its the only net we have out here, and its worked for DCS in the past. Currently works well with other games like Battlefield 4, Arma and Squad.
Im having a similar issue, logged in to DCS (forgot there was an update,) looked at the MP server list and found it empty. Ran the updater, update went fine and am now on the latest OB version (v2.8.8.43704.) Went back in to the MP list and still no servers showing. I was able to connect via IP to one of my favorited servers, and it connected to the server without issue, even had SRS autostart and autoconnect (I know, not a DCS thing but figured still worth mentioning.) After connecting to the server via IP, the server list started populating. I am on a 551MBps down, 22MBps Up network (as shown by the Ookla Speed Test) with an ethernet cable running straight from the router to the PC. I am running a firewall, but have both DCS and SRS allowed through. I am also running IPv6. I have tried restarting my modem and my router, still no servers showing up when first opening DCS World Multithread. Please find attached my latest DCS.log from when I connected via IP to the favorited server and had the server list populate afterwards.
I've been having the same issue from time to time. Although the connecting by ip address, then logging off would show the servers. Unless I reloaded the page, then they wouldn't show and I'd have to log in via ip address again. Hope they fix this soon.
Out of curiosity, do you guys use any texture mods via JSGME or OvGME? I've found that some texture mods will somehow break the server list from populating. When I uninstall the textures the list will populate as normal.
Adding this from my DCS log file. It clearly received a list of servers but didn't populate the displayed list. I tried again in the single threaded exe and the list is full. Multithreading UI timing issue perhaps?
I just got same issue out of the blue. Disconnected from one server get back on list and it was all empty. Nothing changed in mean time. I guess no multiplayer for me. For me. Be it Singlethread version or MT it is all the same. multiplayer list is empty.
