The Russian R50 rally team retrofitted or modified the suspension with beefier rear links and stronger front control arms. I'm also guessing that the struts are also not something you can get off the shelf at your average auto parts retailer. For rally competitions, the entire interior is gutted and retrofitted for rally purposes. Weight reduction is key, because they're adding back a lot of weight with spare parts, etc.

In 2017 Pastrana returned to Subaru to compete full-time in the inaugural American Rally Association (ARA) championship. He and teammate David Higgins traded wins over the six-round ARA championship and battled closely through the last event at the Ojibwe Forest Rally. In the end, Pastrana edged out his longtime mentor and was crowned the inaugural ARA champion, sealing his fifth national rally title. After rallying part-time in 2018-19, Pastrana returned to Subaru full-time in 2020 to compete in both rally and rallycross. A dominant 2021 season saw him make history by winning U.S. national titles in both rally and rallycross, the first driver ever to do so.
Since winning the first Rallycross race he entered back in 2013, Scott Speed has cemented himself as the king of American Rallycross. He won three straight Red Bull GRC titles (2015-2017) and followed it up with the inaugural ARX Championship in 2018 before moving to Subaru to help the brand win its first rallycross championship.
In 2013 Speed began racing in the Global Rallycross Championship where he took a win in his debut race at X Games in Brazil. In 2014 he won three GRC races as well as another X Games Gold, finishing the year third in the GRC Championship points battle. Then from 2015 to 2018 he dominated rallycross, earning four consecutive titles before announcing a switch to Subaru Rally Team USA for the 2019 season.
After winning his first event with Subaru in 2019 and taking the lead of the Americas Rallycross championship through three races, Speed suffered a broken vertebra in his back after a hard landing at that year's Nitro World Games event and was forced to sit out the remainder of the season. Still, his work as a development driver and early-season points were vital in helping Subaru earn its first-ever team championship in rallycross at the end of the 2019 season.
After shifting to esports events in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Speed was part of Subaru's return to rallycross in 2021 with the new Nitro Rallycross series. He won the championship's second round and finished the season with four podiums out of five events, placing him in a tie on points with teammate Travis Pastrana for the driver's title and helping earn the second straight team championship for Subaru in rallycross.
A fitness enthusiast with a love for running, cycling and coaching young racing drivers, Speed lives in North Carolina with his wife Amanda and two daughters.

Team Audi Sport is prepping for the 2024 Dakar Rally, and their journey includes competing in the Morocco Rally. The team will field three Audi RS Q e-tron cars, driven by the teams of Mattias Ekström/Emil Bergkvist, Stéphane Peterhansel/Edouard Boulanger, and Carlos Sainz/Lucas Cruz, marking their first classification in this prestigious rally.
The Rally du Maroc, scheduled from October 13 to 18, features a prologue and five rally stages with a total distance of 2,219 kilometers (1,379 miles). Unlike the previous year when Team Audi Sport participated outside the classification, they will now face formidable competition from Toyota, Ford, and Prodrive as registered participants in the fifth round of the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship. Rolf Michl regards this as an excellent opportunity to assess their current standing and fine-tune their preparations for the 2024 Dakar Rally.
