how to create a package of library

How to create a package of library.
I've created package but when I tested it with pkglint, the following error was shown:

"Public library without soname :
lib/libmp3.1.so
see policy 2.2"

but I don't know how to remove this error.
What should I put in PACKAGE file

thanx for helping. I've compiled with -slibmp3.1.so and it worked perfectly...I'll send the package file soon...by the way the library I've created is to read tags (such as title, author, album, etc.) from mp3 files...

Great! May be in this case it should have less ambiguous name,
say libmp3tags?

I've renamed libmp3 to libmp3tags and sent the libmp3tags package and mpl package via email. If there is no error in packages then upload them to alchemy os package database...
