I am on Apple Music. And to convert Apple Music to Sandisk player, I use the Audio Converter for Windows to help me. With it, I can download and convert Apple Music as local files in other plain audio formats. Then I can sync the music to any other devices or platforms with ease.
Spotify is better. There are software like Spotify music converter Mac from Audfree which can help you download music to your mp3 player at high speed. No Spotify Premium required and you can get the music files with original sound quality preserved.
I'm someone who loves exploring music within various genres, and I've been using both Spotify and Apple Music to dive into new sounds. Lately, I've noticed a significant disparity between the two platforms in terms of music discovery.
In Spotify, it's been amazing to find new genres or tastes and create playlists around them. I love that I can add a new genre to a playlist and get a bunch of similar music suggestions. However, my experience with Apple Music has been quite different.
The music suggestions in Apple Music seem limited to popular and highly hyped songs, often lacking diversity in genre and taste. Instead of exploring new kinds of music, I find myself getting recommendations that don't align with my preferences.
I'm curious about why this discrepancy exists between Spotify and Apple Music. Has anyone else experienced this difference in music suggestions? And does anyone have insights into why Apple Music might be offering less diverse and more mainstream suggestions compared to Spotify?
The beta version of music videos on Spotify begins rolling out today with a limited catalog of music videos, including hits from global artists like Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, and Ice Spice, or local favorites like Aluna and Asake.
When I listen to music sometimes the song just goes silent. The bar keeps moving but no sound is coming out. When I go back to the app and pause and play it returns to the position before it went silent.
As an android app developer myself, I was noticing this myself on a Sony Xperia 1 V running Android 14, all battery optimization/pause app activity if not used is disabled and I clean installed Spotify first. The only change I made in spotify was to make the download storage location for my local music the SD card, however in this session I was streaming an album that I didn't have saved locally.
Log continuing from the previous log where I tried play/pausing the music a few times before skipping to the previous track then skipping forward again to the track that was playing silently to force it to play correctly:
spotifyerrorwithresume.txt
I had some interesting findings looking at the logs, when I was trying to play/pause the silently playing song, I could see `Unexpected activity event reported! (com.spotify.music/com.spotify.nowplaying.musicinstallation.NowPlayingActivity event : 23 instanceId : 185947366)`
When the silent playback happened, there was an SQLite error about local cached auth-cache.db in /data/user/0/com.spotify.music/databases which seems to be the root cause of the error
I could see this here in the first log attached above:
` A resource failed to call SQLiteConnectionPool.close.
2024-01-09 16:14:24.873 9631-9642 SQLiteConnectionPool com.spotify.music W A SQLiteConnection object for database '/data/user/0/com.spotify.music/databases/auth-cache.db' was leaked! Please fix your application to end transactions in progress properly and to close the database when it is no longer needed.`
I'm building a simple app, where users can share the song they're listening with friends. If the user is a Spotify subscriber and his/her friend is an Apple Music subscriber, and the Spotify user is sharing the song, how can I search for the same song in apple catalog? Is there any common ID, like ISRC on Apple Music? Or any other comparison method?I know how to use search already for songs/albums etc. The question is how to make sure that the result is the same song from spotify. Any ideas?Thank you!
When connecting via bluetooth to my car, it transitions to Carplay. After the app transitions from the normal mode to CarPlay mode, more often than not, my music changes to my Liked Songs. I don't know why this is. I get about a second of the playlist or song I was listening to before a random song from my Liked Songs begins to play. Sometimes, I'm already in my Liked Songs, but it will still restart my session and play a random Liked Song.
/r/spotify was primarily created to share cool new playlists that you have made or found. We also encourage users to post their opinions, discussions of relevant Spotify news, and apps that they create or find. We are not however, a support community, and we encourage users to use official support channels for most issues.

The cost of submitting your music to Spotify is included with your one-time CD Baby fee. That fee also includes distribution to more than 150 other distribution platforms. Through CD Baby, you can submit a single song or album for just $9.99. Unlike other distributors, CD Baby does not have any recurring subscription fees and we will never remove your music from streaming platforms for missing a payment.
Spotify verification is open to every artist submitting their music to the platform, but you must apply to verify your Spotify for Artists profile. When you use CD Baby to submit your songs to Spotify, we handle this process for you.
The time it takes for your music to appear on Spotify depends on how complete your information is when submitted through CD Baby and how long it takes the Spotify team to review it. On average, it takes about 5-10 business days for your music to go live on Spotify once you have finished submitting your release through CD Baby.
I recently have had to switch laptops, and had to redownload zoom onto this new laptop. Ever since zoom was downloaded, every time I would go into a meeting any other sound playing becomes muffled, this applies for Youtube videos and Spotify. It is irritating as I have gotten used to playing music while being in zoom meetings and this makes listening to music while IN a zoom meeting impossible. It is important to note that this only happens when I connect audio to my computer, and doesn't happen if my microphone isn't connected to the zoom meeting.
Any help or solutions would be appreciated.
3. Click the Audio tab
4. Under the Audio Profile section, select Original sound for musicians.
5. Select the audio options you wish to use:
- High-fidelity music mode: This disables echo cancellation & post-processing, while raising audio codec quality to 48Khz, 96Kbps mono/192kbps stereo. A professional audio interface, microphone, and headphones are required.
- Echo cancellation: Prevents the creation of echoes between the mic and speakers. Disable is only recommended when using headphones to isolate audio or when playing instruments.
- Stereo audio: Encodes mic audio in stereo. Requires a stereo-capable microphone or audio interface.
Then, please ensure as well that you turn it on during the actual meeting:
1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
2. Start or join a meeting.
3. Connect to meeting audio with the Computer Audio option.
4. In the top-left corner of the meeting window, the current status of the Original Sound for Musicians feature is indicated.
5. Click the Original Sound for Musicians button to toggle to ON.
Having almost exact same issue as Scenario 2 above. When I share screen and share computer audio and play a Youtube video, the singer's *voice* can be heard, but the music/instrumentals of the video *cannot* be heard at all or is very choppy. I'm using a brand new very powerful laptop (octacore, 16gb ram, etc) with Windows 11. Did not seem to have the problem with older low-end 11-year-old laptop using Windows 10
Just wanted to share that we recognized this is an issue with PC devices. Mac's do not have the audio issue. If Zoom can look into this, it would be greatly appreciated. We offer a lot of workshops with shared audio and have the tech support person with a Mac share when possible. Since all the PCs tend to have the muffling issue when the voice audio competes with the music audio.
It was the Meetings Window that opened today in the zoom app.
I entered the meeting link from there and I did not see any toggle for the Original Sound for Musicians to toggle on and frankly I forgot about that.
Have 2 dud wasted recordings with no musical vocal toning audible only speech.
When I went back into the Zoom App, clicked "Home " from the tool bar, and entered a meeting to check .....the toggle bar for Original Audio for Musicians was there.
Maybe that is the problem......?!?
Seem counter intuitive of Zoom to require the Original Audio for Musicians to be turned on each meeting when it is already set in the Preferences. Zoom requires a lot of work from the users to check many features with each meeting. See if this helps any of you and report back.
Thank you... I am pleased to say that it is all fixed... de-installed zoom, restarted computer, re-installed zoom and adjusted sound settings. The really important setting was original sound for musicians which helped make the music quality really clear. We had a great lesson with perfect sound this week. I'm very relieved.
