Albineer Rendezvous Saysutshun (Newcastle) Provincial Marine Park August 13-15 2023

August is here - time to gather again for an informal Albineers’ Rendezvous at Saysutshun (Newcastle Island) Provincial Park across the harbour from Nanaimo.  

Let's get together starting late afternoon Sunday August 13th to mid-day Tuesday August 15th.  These dates will avoid the local weekend crowds and provide a better opportunity for finding dock space or a vacant mooring buoy. There is also room to anchor beyond the buoys. There are no reservations - moorage is on a first come/first served basis.

The Island has bathrooms and showers, picnic tables, walk-in campsites, Saysutshun Concession, walking trails and swimming beaches, and an interesting history.  Anyone who is adventurous can dinghy over to the Dinghy Dock Pub for a meal or two. 

For anyone who wants to drive to Nanaimo, there is a foot-ferry to the island from Maffeo-Sutton Park in downtown Nanaimo. There is also the Brechin Boat Launch for anyone who wants to launch nearby.

Let's all have dinner together on Monday evening starting around 5:30 at the picnic tables near the head of the docks.
