We looked at getting a full hard top but ultimately decided to have a 1/2 hard top, with a hatch installed over the helm position,  and to keep the existing removable canvas over the back section.  Our thinking was this will allow the sun in a bit more on nice days.   We had this done by Black Line at Canoe Cove.

Hello,
I want hard top with Canvas on sides, back and over the helm.  I will talk to Black line.
Did you get quotes from anyone else?

 Thanks

Tim

I build one using cedar strips and fiberglass. Posted pictures here a year or so ago.

No, since were having other work done there as well on the vessel, we just decided to just have them do it at the same time.  I heard there used to be a boat yard in Maple Bay (I think?) that used to do these, and may have had a mold at one time, but not sure.  Others may be able to chime-in on that.

Hi Jeff,

I tracked down the person who used to produce the hardtops at Cove Yatchs.  And he sent this back in reply.

"Hi Barron
My mould is with Mark Leslie and you could contact and deal with him. He could build a top for you.His number is 250 710 4494.
Cheers
Phil."

I contacted Mark and the quote for the hardtop was $8000 as I recall.   I've since decide to try and make my own .

Cheers

Here are two nice A25 DIY Hardtop project to learn from if you go that route.

http://vagabond1209.blogspot.com/2012/04/

http://msbettencourtsnewtop.blogspot.com/2012/05/top-is-on.html

I’m researching using a second hand (craigslist @ $400 max) or junkyard  fiberglass pickup truck bed Tonneau cover or fiberglass bed hardtop and fabricating that as the base to custom A25 hardtop. Trying to match arc of A25 roofline

Sample https://arthurrothsteinarchive.com

Anyone here used a pick up truck cover as base for top??

Our boat Puffin has a pick-up box cover as a roof.....it should be in a past thread...I posted pics as well. Definitely a cheaper route.
Thx.
