This is to let you know that Dick Chudley, a member of the Albineers of BC, who imported Albins and Vegas into BC back in the 1970's, passed away August 5, 2023.

We first met Dick in the summer of 1974 when we bought our Vega  27 (DESIDERATA). Dick was always very reassuring, even when we brought DESIDERATA in for repairs after sailing around the north end of Vancouver Island to Port Alice where we were living at that time. The years passed.  Eventually we moved to Nanaimo. We got into smaller and smaller boats (a kayak) until we retired and bought an Albin 25 (SKOL). It was wonderful to have our paths cross with Dick and Janet when we joined the Albineers of BC. As it says in his obituary, Dick loved 'messing about in boats'. And thanks to Dick, many of us now have the joy of 'messing about in our Albins'.
