Theme: Health
Enduring Understanding: Health is the base of the life. Without
health one cannot achieve anything.
Essential Questions:
• How does health effect one’s life?
• How does health effect one’s family?
• How to maintain health?
Integrated Performance Assessment
Scenario: Your students are going to visit a Chinese Clinique with
alternative treatment to learn the
Chinese concept of health and the way to maintain health .
Interpretive Task: To read a piece of information on Chinese way of
fitness. Then using T/F and multi-
choices assessment to check their understanding of the information.
Interpersonal Task: Ask students to form group and discuss if they
agree to the author’s point of view
of the reading, whether they favor Western or Chinese
concept of health and the
according way of treatment and fitness program.
Presentational Task: Can be one of or all of the following options:
1. Present the group discussion in the class or to write a report it
individually.
2. Produce a brochure of a Health Guidance
3. Design the curriculum of a Health Program/Club.
4. Make a jigsaw on health collectively.
