Morning/Afternoon All!
Wondering if folks would be interested in putting in a proposal for the Open Education Conference.
Perhaps a panel to let folks know what is happening in OER across our great country? https://openeducationconference.org/2021/call-for-proposals
If you are interested let me know by replying here and then I will find a time for us all to connect to make a plan.
Thanks
Amanda

We had a student create an OER as part of her undergraduate thesis: https://caul-cbua.pressbooks.pub/bumblebees/
And I believe one of our faculty members had a Master's class author and education book as well if you want to reach out to him Rob_...@cbu.ca

I would agree with Jenni-
We edited the chapters ( in multiple formats) before putting them into pressbooks for version 1.
This year we tried to have the students edit in press books - and it proved to be too difficult at this point in time.

I believe it is also possible to have multiple Pressbooks instances and then combine a book. Andrea Niosi at KPU has done this I believe.
In my experience, multiple editors in the same book at the same time is like crossing the streams in Ghost Busters

Morning Jessica !
I have co-designed a pressbook with my graduate #edtechethics class. We are working on version #2 this year, but this is the link to Version #1. Each student wrote their own chapter and I supported them. I co-wrote the Introductory chapter
which has more information.

Hi All,
I have an instructor who wants to create a student authored Pressbook. What we need to work out is the logistics of multiple students developing content for a single book. I am currently
reviewing
A Guide to Making Open Textbooks with Students, but we are curious about the practical process of managing student creation of content. If you know of a Pressbook
that was
authored by a class, I’d love to speak to the faculty member about their process!
Cheers,
Jessica

Oki, Amba’wastitch, Danit’ada, Tân’si, Hello. We would like to acknowledge that SAIT is situated on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy. The City of Calgary
encompasses a region
that the Blackfoot tribes of Southern Alberta described as Moh’kinsstis, meaning ‘Elbow,’ in reference to its location at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow rivers. Since time immemorial, this region was a traditional gathering place for the tribes of the
Blackfoot Confederacy. We are meeting/gathered on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy, which, today encompasses the Indigenous people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta: the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina, the
Stoney Nakoda First Nations, the Northwest Métis Homeland – Region 3.

CAUL-CBUA represents member libraries across the region, all of whom sit on the unceded and traditional territories of First Peoples. In Newfoundland and Labrador, our libraries sit on the homelands of the Inuit of Nunatsiavut and NunatuKavut, the Innu of Nitassinan, the Beothuk and the Mi’kmaq peoples. In Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, we find our friends and colleagues situated on the territory of the Mi’kmaq. In New Brunswick, libraries are found on the land of the Wəlastəkwiyik, Mi’kmaq, and Passamaquoddy Peoples. We at CAUL-CBUA wish to express our sincerest gratitude to the First Peoples who share their ancestral homelands with us all.
