Library Learning: Using the New Reading List Service Webinettes
December 8 & 10 (11 AM - 11:30 AM)
Drop in via Zoom: ctl.guide/readinglists
It is now easier than ever to keep your reading list materials organized thanks to a new service provided by the University of Alberta Library, powered by Talis Aspire. CTL staff have collaborated with the Library to bring you a special series to walk you through the many benefits of this system for both instructors and students. Library staff will be on hand for a brief Q&A following the sessions.
- Integrating your Reading List into eClass (Dec 8)
Peanut Butter and Jelly. Tacos and Tuesdays. Reading List and eClass. They work fine on their own but they’re better together. Attend the webinette to find out why! Note: Reading lists may also be accessed on their own or inserted into other Learning Management Systems such as TWEN.
- Reading List Analytics (Dec 10)
Learn about how reading list analytics can provide insights on student engagement and how to use statistics to help improve your reading list.

A wunderbares example of UofA OER Publishing
Claudia Kost and Crystal Sawatzky’s labor of love has hit the big time! The co-authors have developed an open textbook for first year German language classes including audio, video, and interactive quizzes and activities developed with undergraduate students. The textbook is designed for a blended learning format and allows students to communicate in German in a variety of contexts. The book is open licensed (CC-BY-NC-SA) hosted on Pressbooks through the UofA’s Open Textbook Publishing program. The open textbook allows anyone to duplicate, modify, and share the content for non-commercial use. You don't need to speak German to see the learning opportunities they have created for their students. Click here to view the Introductory German website.
