This post was originally by yukke (sorry yukke), I have updated his
english and added a few points.

Thanks for your cooperation in helping to translate MOTAS.
Let me show you how to translate MOTAS, because no one has set any
guidelines.

First of all, you have to check that the level you intend to translate
has not already been translated.
You can check it here: http://members.home.nl/motas/?Translations
(Please also check the "files" section of the forum and the "post your
MOTAS translations here" section to make absolutely certain that no
one has translated it already)

Please use Notepad or equivalent text editor to save your text files,
as the file extension must read ".txt"

On the translations website, a "-" mark on the list means that there
is no translation for that level, please translate that level.
You can get the original English text from the bottom of that page.
If you see a "x" mark on the list and intend to translate that level
but cannot find the incomplete text, please post here (in this
section) to ask for the incomplete translated text.

Notice One : Text file format
Do not change the format of the text file. Because this is how it will
be added to the game. Just translate the sentences into another
language.

Example:
Original English text
&mytxt1=A KEY

Translated into French text
&mytxt1=UNE CLÉ

Notice Two : Signature
Don't forget to put your name or nickname on top of the text file.

Example:
mytxt0=Text by: Jan Albartus, Translation by: yukke
&lang=japanese&version=1.0

You can start the version number from 1.0. Then If you change the file
make sure to increase the version number.

Notice Three : Encoding
You have to save the text file as a UTF-8 encoded text file. Please
read the help file of your text file editor to find out how to save it
as UTF-8.

Notice Four : Some texts must stay in English, these are:
Level 7 - The letter from Max the security guard.
Level 9 - The word "QUEST".
Level 11 - The "Maual" and "Problems" sections
Level 12 - The MOTAS book.
Level 16 - The words "unox" "blender" "taters". Some other words in
the level 16 text may be either translated or left in English.

If you have doubt about whether something specific should be
translated or left in English you may post in this section to ask, or
ask in the MOTAS game chat room.

Thanks again for your help.

Please do your best and make them better. (^_^)

What yukke said :)
I have uploaded all portuguese files in a zip file in the "files"
section here to make it easier for you.
Please make sure all are saved in UTF-8 format. If you have trouble
with it, you can ask here or in the game chat room.
Thanks
