GoFundMe for Joe Johnson to dedicate a park bench in his memory

Happy Monday all,

Many of you played disc with Joe Johnson back in the day.  When Ultimate became too hard on his body he took up playing rugby!  And one of my work colleagues played with him for years. The rugby crew has a GoFundMe to raise funds to dedicate a park bench in his memory:

To remember the late, great Joe Johnson, we’re sponsoring a park bench in his honor at St. Mary’s Park in Bernal Heights, San Francisco, CA. A long-time resident of Bernal, Joe was one of the Vintage Rugby originals who so often marked out the St. Mary’s pitch for Sunday morning rugby. We are so sorry to have lost him but glad we have a fitting way to symbolize how much he meant to our community.

Hey Doug,

Nice to hear from you and thanks for sharing this.  Wow I didn’t know he passed.  Joe was such a great dude and always a pleasure to be aroumd.  I’ll check it out, what a fitting tribute!
