Please join us for our 16th annual South End Earth Day. This event is taking place on Saturday, April 18th, 2026 from 10am-4pm at the Radix Ecological Sustainability Center (153 Grand St, Albany, NY 12202). Each spring, volunteers come together to care for the community gardens in the South End and prepare them for the growing season. Over the last 15 years it’s developed into so much more, with free food and drinks, local entertainment, and an array of community resources.
>Volunteers will meet at Radix at 10am, form groups for each garden site, and team up with a Crew Leader. We’ll provide all the tools and supplies needed to freshen up garden beds and remove debris that has accumulated over the winter.
>The Block Party and Resource Fair starts at 1pm, with food, refreshments, music, and live entertainment going until 4 p.m. Countless community-based organizations will be there, eager to share what they have to offer including free health screenings, clean energy job resources, soil testing, and more.
Ways to Participate:
Tabling: We’d like to offer you the opportunity to table at this event and share your work for a suggested minimum $100 donation. Organizations who donate $250 or more will receive special recognition in some promotional materials. We ask that organizations bring their own tables, chairs, and tents for this event. Table setup begins at 12pm. Important note: If your organization would like to participate but is unable to donate, please let us know – we want this event to be accessible for our whole community!
Event Sponsorship: Sponsors will be invited to set up a table and promote their organization. Sponsors will receive recognition in all promotional materials for their contribution to this event for a suggested minimum donation of $500. We are happy to accommodate individual sponsor’s promotional needs to the best of our ability.
Volunteering: Please let me know if you or your team would be interested in volunteering from 10am-1pm. If you’d like to share this flyer with other groups who might be interested as well, we would greatly appreciate it!
