AID Troy/Albany, NY chapter invites you to a unique opportunity to meet renowned journalist, Jaideep Hardikar, whose focus includes Rural and Agrarian communities across India.

Join us for a unique opportunity to meet renowned journalist, Jaideep Hardikar. 

Jaideep Hardikar BIO:

Jaideep Hardikar is a core member of the People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI) and a Fellow of the Mumbai School of Economics and Public Policy. His journalistic career spanning over two decades, and among many other things, he has reported extensively on agrarian distress and farming crisis in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. He has authored reports for several prominent media outlets, including the BBC, New Internationalist Magazine, News 18, Indian Express and The Wire.

Author of the book, "A Village Awaits Doomsday", Jaideep provides a vivid account of what happens to people who’re displaced by development projects in India. He is currently writing a second book on farmers’ suicide and cotton grower’s struggle in globalized world.
