ISO Fresher’s Picnic - Incoming Indian Students!!!!
Monday, August 11, 2008
Dear Incoming Indian Students,
We would like to extend a warm welcome from the Indian Students
Organization (ISO) & International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS)
to all of you! You will find that you have come during the most
beautiful part of the year—the temperature is perfect, the sunny days
last until 9 at night, and soon the leaves will fall and turn into
vibrant shades of orange. As you get settled, We would like to
encourage you all not to hesitate to approach any of us at the ISO
about any questions you may have, regarding anything from
accommodations to academics to where to shop for groceries.
In anticipation of your arrival, we would like to invite all incoming
ISO members to a welcome potluck picnic at Thatcher Park this coming
weekend. We will be meeting at noon at Collins Circle and carpooling
from there to the park, about 30 minutes away. Transportation and
lunch will be provided by the current ISO students. Please make it a
point to come, as you will meet all of the other incoming students, as
well as many of the existing ISO members. This event is for both
graduate & under graduate students admitted in fall 2008. The park has
fields for playing soccer or volleyball, and overlooks the city of
Albany, providing spectacular views.
We appreciate ISSS for supporting this event. We will be looking
forward to organizing such events in the near future.
