Albanian Needing Medical Help Questions

An Albanian woman has been accepted to come to Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston for treatment for a serious medical issue which can only be treated here. 

She will be coming for a Bronchoscopy T tube change and consultations which may later lead to surgery.  The problems are related to an accident that requires her to now breathe through a tube in her throat..

It will cost $45,000-$50,000 just for the initial consultations -- who knows for surgery after that, if necessary -- plus some living and travel expenses.

We know we can not possibly raise that much money so our questions are:

1)  Can anyone recommend what the family could do vis-a-vis insurance coverage they could get here in Massachusetts

2)  Any other "external" sources for financial help they could apply for financial help

3)  Any other suggestions??
