Hi all alavetelists!
Ma Dada has some great news to share!
We got accepted into the
government's "Citizen Initiatives Accelerator" back in March
(and I realise we never really mentioned this). The programme
was aimed at connecting us with relevant public bodies to
facilitate our work, and strengthen our organisation.
However we can now say that
we've received a grant (from the ministry of "public
transformation", 80k€) which will enable us to hire a full
time employee over the next year, do a bit of tech and legal
work to polish the legal aspects of the site to comply with
the law (GDPR, French FOI regulations...). There's a potential
second leg of 60k€ at the end of this year. On top of the
money, we also have support from a person within the
administration to open doors for us within the public sector.
The official announcement by the ministry with details is here
https://citoyens.transformation.gouv.fr/actualite.html
Our goals are to broaden our user base (~450 right now), produce more requests, but mostly improve the response rate from the administration which is terrible (18-20% so far).
We'll be posting a job offer soon.
Let's hope this will actually bring more transparency!
