Hello,

I'm so glad I came across this site. Your information is extremely helpful and the tech seems quite useful as well!

Unfortunately, I am not techy...yet. Even so, I am excited to get started on this project. This "template" is exactly as I have been envisioning the workflows, so I was surprised to find it.

We are a small jurisdiction, but we have a good Ombudsman. Certain Gov Departments do not publish their disclosure logs very often or, sometimes, at all. 

If anyone has any further advice for me that is not already in this community or on the main site, please do share it. 

I have two starting questions. 1. Has anyone experienced a situation in which the Gov was willing to help with some of the costs, especially when they acknowledge that their departments are not following the regulations? 2. We have an appeals process to the Ombudsman...does the site or others using it help with that next step?

Hi David, 

Thanks for your positive comments about the tech! I don't think that there are installs of Alaveteli that are financially supported by the government, but I'm happy to be corrected if someone else knows better. On appeals, you can download a zip file of all the correspondence related to a request in order to be able to share it with the ombudsman, but Alaveteli doesn't support the process of appeals itself.

Thanks, Louise! That process seems appropriate, especially given that appeals are a last resort and seem to occur in relatively small numbers. The zip function is yet another helpful function. 

I have the motivation for this site, but lack the technological background. I’ll keep exploring my options.
