Hi all,

OK, thanks very much for all your comments! How about this as a new,
improved schedule outline -- more high-level than my last outline. We
can drill down into each area once we're agreed.

Day 1: Learning about Alaveteli and similar systems from each others experience

A series of round-table discussions, each round a theme. The
panellists would be people involved in Alaveteli deployments from
Brazil, Spain, EU, Kosovo, UK. Possible themes: (a) getting a team
together; (b) arranging translations; (c) customising the software to
local requirements; (d) media and advertising -- getting the word out;
(e) interacting with authorities - Us vs. Them, etc; (f) ongoing
maintenance and managing requests. These might be lumped into two
sessions as James suggested, or a series of "lightening" sessions, or
something else. This would basically take the entire day.

Day 2: A mixture of hands-on practical knowledge sharing, and planning
the future of Alaveteli, divided into hacker and non-hacker streams

The day would be prefaced with a series of lightening talks about the
global FOI movement. We have a few people with global or regional
expertise. This background should help inform the rest of the day.

Stream 1 would be a room of hackers with laptops, working on (a) some
kind of sprint to code something useful; (b) brainstorming
infrastructure etc; (c) troubleshooting for developers currently
implementing
Stream 2 would be a room of site administrators, campaigners, managers
etc, working on subjects like (a) how to do effective advocacy and
site launches; (b) common problems for site managers - legal issues,
spam, etc (c) how to balance "build it how it should be" and "build it
like it is"; (d) what new features should be planned for the next year
of Alaveteli development?

Day 2 should end with a wrap-up session -- reports from the two
streams and a discussion.

Thanks,

Seb
