I hope you are well, wherever in the world you are.
I've got two bits of news to share today:
1 > I've spent way too long sitting behind a computer and staring at a screen, but at last my first documentary is finished. I'm pleased / proud / relieved / need to run up a big hill.
The film's premiere took place last week at the hallowed Royal Geographical Society in London. I was thrilled for it to be screened there. I was even more pleased that we had a simultaneous (ish) premiere of the film in a small tent in Antarctica!
Into The Empty Quarter tells the story of my desert journey from Oman to Dubai inspired by the great adventurer Wilfred Thesiger. You can watch the trailer of the film here. Hopefully you'll enjoy it enough to buy the whole film (52 mins), either as an HD download or a DVD...
2 > My first book, Moods of Future Joys, is going to be re-released with a new Afterword, 8 pages of photographs and a new cover.
So I'm offering anyone the chance to design the new cover for the book. If you are in to graphic design, or if you know anyone who is, please do visit this link to read about the competition process. I'm hoping we get some great ideas by opening the design process like this.
