Good Afternoon!
I shall be brief this month as I'm typing with my thumbs in a wood.
I've been running the Summer Solstice Microadventure Challenge for 4 years now and I'd love you to get involved (full info here: www.alastairhumphreys.com/summer-solstice-microadventure-challenge-2/).
Most of us would like more adventure, more wilderness, more simplicity in our lives. But most of us don't have the time or the money to get round to it. That's why I run this midsummer challenge - to stop us procrastinating adventures and to commit to making one happen. They don't have to be big or complicated; that's the whole point of microadventures.
I hope you'll read the plan behind the challenge and commit to giving it a go in this final week of June.
If you'd like some inspiration for how to fit a night in the wild into your busy routine, have a look here: www.alastairhumphreys.com/time-microadventure/

Or, if you really aren't tempted by the idea of switching off your phone, escaping the city, and sleeping on a hill for just one night, then perhaps you might prefer this post I wrote about "the variety of silences" and a different style of adventure:  www.alastairhumphreys.com/time-microadventure/

But really, with the sun shining, the evenings long, and Wimbledon and the Ashes on the horizon, you should consider a night on a hill like this: https://vimeo.com/103138125

Good luck with the competition - there's some great prizes to win from Osprey, Mountain Equipment, howies and Harper Collins. Plus booby prizes from me.

Alastair
