Good morning!
Firstly, let me apologise for sending you more than one email this month (shamelessly trying to flog my DVD and books to you). I promise I'll leave you in peace now until next year!
Back in June I ran a competition encouraging people to get out of town, sleep on a hill, and have a microadventure. It was a great success. (You can see the winners' films here.)
So here is a fresh challenge. A winter solstice microadventure. The sun lies low in the sky, backlighting or silhouetting the world beautifully. And the night is cold and long, filled with stars and the greedy knowledge that you own this night while everyone else is tucked up indoors frittering their lives in front of X-Factor Xmas Specials.
In other news...
- All my books remain on Buy One Get One Free until Christmas.
- Thank you to everyone who has bought a DVD / download of 'Into The Empty Quarter'. And thank you for the amazing feedback the film is receiving.
- Amusingly, I was nominated as 'Outdoors Personality of the Year' by TGO magazine. I didn't win. (Ray Mears did).
- The kids' microadventure I did in the summer has been nominated as the Most Influential Educational Blog Post of the Year which is much more exciting.
- My first book is about to get a new cover. More than 50 people submitted their design ideas. You can see the pick here.
Finally, please can I ask your opinion?
My newsletter, deliberately, looks like a normal email typed by me. That's because that is what it is! Personally I think all that matters is conveying the essential information to you as succinctly as possible.
But would you prefer a prettier-looking newsletter like most people / businesses use?
I'd really appreciate your thoughts about the effectiveness of my newsletters.
Many thanks for all your support this year.
Merry Christmas,
Alastair
