Peaceful friends,
Thanks so much to all the volunteers who spent time at our booth in the
Borealis Building at the Fair, and to all those who stopped by the booth
for conversation and encouragement. The Tanana Valley Fair is our
biggest outreach event of the year. It is important to be present for
Peace, Justice, and Sustainability in our community. In my own
experience there were many people who stopped by the booth and expressed
appreciation for our presence. Our goal at the Fair is to reach out to
people and to keep issues of peace, justice, and sustainability in the
forefront of thoughts and conversations within the Fairbanks
community. The financial cost of maintaining a booth is not cheap, but
we do sell a certain amount of merchandise and accept donations to
defray our expenses. We aren't in it for the money, but the money that
does come in reflects the amount of interest and support that people
have for us and our message. This year we took in $478, slightly more
than half of the $800 fee for the booth space.
Again, thanks so much for your support and help at the Fair. It is very
much appreciated and we couldn't do it without you.
In gratitude,
Alan
