If you can spare ANY time over the next two days (Mon, Dec 19 and Tues,
Dec 20) and can either come down to the ELPC office at 35 E. Wacker,
Chicago and/or make long distance phone calls from your home, please
let me know ASAP!
My boss just informed me that Arctic drilling is officially in the
Defense Appropriations bill, and unless Ted Stevens has a grinch-like
change of heart, it will come down to a filibuster on Wednesday. We
are not at all certain that we have enough senators willing to back the
filibuster; so we must get residents of Ohio and Michigan to contact
Senators DeWine (OH), Voinovich (OH) and Stabenow (MI) immediately!!!!
