Sounds like it's time for the batphone to central administration and see what's realy going on behind the screenz. When there is something missing then something paymentproof-ish must exist somewhere to show off with.
so whats the end of the story? does it work now? I have the same problem with the BS1 ---upgrade--> BS2. It tells me my serial is invalid. It worked before patch 1.2.6 tho. Very wierd. I have bought everything on DCS webshop so no 2 different accounts. I have just one account. All the actions taken liek uninstall everything and deactivated the serial and tried to reactivate and then tells me wrong serial...oh boy. Anyone with any idea around? Many thanks in advance.
- Please doublecheck that the activation request is for the product you believe it to be; remember that activation is requested for all non-activated products, not just the one for the aircraft you are starting. You can see identity of the module in top left of activation request.
thanks for answering. I did and I could remove the Invalid Serial message in Multiplayer by removing my serial from the regestry. I renetered the serial after running the protect.exe and it got activated again. But still in module manager is no serial showing unded Black Shark Ka-50. Any ideas?
Well there is no $ sign and I am logged in correctly. I have properly bought it and when I remove it with the trashcan symbol and I close the game and restart it and I move on the module manager again, on the main screen of module manager it shows the module which can be bought and there is also the BS2 upgrade which tells me: install instead of buy. So it is somehow recognized that I 've leagally bought the game upgrade. Well I dont care, if the serial won't show up in Module manager as long as I can play online :)
Which login are you using for MP, the one for the forum or the one for digitalcombatsimulator.com? (note that these are not necessarily identical, you need to login with your digitalcombatsimulator.com account)
Most likely you have previously used that serial number with another account online. This sometimes happen because A10C standalone originally simply assigned to the first account that uses it online. You can verify this through this page:
Log into your account and then check that page. If the A-10C is indeed not on this page either, most likely you have at some point used a different account with this product originally. (Might be one created in the MP interface itself.)
You might have added the serial number to your non Steam Version of the game in the past ( I had bought all 4 A-10C modules for my 4 playeraccounts I do own via Steam before DCS-World was avaible on Steam/thats why I know about this issue)
Since DCS World is avaible on Steam, Steam granted their customers another new serial number/different from the original products serialnumber to the DCS A-10C for your Steam account for use in DCS WORLD on Steam (DLC CD-Key for the A-10C).
When you have ever activated the origianal serialnumber /bind it to your DCS account in the past before the release of DCS World on Steam and you play the A-10C on the Steam DCS World logging in with the same login you use for the non steam version of the game you might face a problem wich I want to share with you and its solution.
The new issued serialnumber (Steam DLC CD-Key) granted from steam for your pre DCS World on Steam bought A-10C product will get bind to your DCS account, regardless that there is already/still the original serial number of the same product binded to your account. For a while you even might not notice this fact at all. But when you try to log into the serverbrowser/multiplayergame after reinstalling the whole non steam DCS WORLD and its modules with the activated A-10C module you might face the message "wrong serial number". It took me a couple of attempts solving the issue until I noticed the drop down menue in the module manager of the non steam DCS World version next to the A-10C wich showed me surprisingly both serialnumbers of the module (the original and the one issued by steam after the DCS World launch on Steam.
Depending if you played the A-10C on Steam DCS World or not (or whatever else counts in) it differs wich of the two serials will be accepted by the game when you reactivate them (by starting the multiplayer via desktop shortcut while holding the left shiftkey pressed).
Bruno, Ethereal - thanks! I did find that page prior and the serial is not listed there either, like I never even bought it. Though when I look at my orders page I see I purchased DCS A-10 (during beta) on Completed
Several labels are used when referring to the DCS line of simulation products: DCS World, Modules, and Campaigns. DCS World is a free-to-play game that includes two free aircraft and two free maps. Modules are downloadable content that expand the game with add-on aircraft, maps, and other content. Campaigns are scripted sets of missions. Modules and campaigns are produced by Eagle Dynamics as well as third-parties.[2]
DCS World is a study sim in which players learn how to operate aircraft using realistic procedures. Aircraft are meticulously modeled from real-world data,[3] including authentic flight models and subsystems[4] and detailed cockpits with interactive buttons and switches.[5] Digital manuals document the history, systems, and operation of each aircraft in extensive detail.[6] The game has extensive support for joysticks and HOTAS input devices ranging from gamepads[7] to 1:1 replica cockpits.[8]
DCS World supports a wide variety of combat operations including combat air patrol, dogfighting, airstrikes, close air support, SEAD, and airlifts. Dozens of military airplanes and helicopters are available, spanning eras from World War II through the Cold War into the early 21st century.[9][10] Popular modules include the AH-64D, F-16C, F/A-18C, F-14, and A-10C.[11]
A mission editor is included for users to create their own scenarios and campaigns with support for scripting in Lua. Users can host their own servers with user-made missions for PVE and PVP multiplayer. The community has developed tools to create missions using procedural generation[12][13][14] and real-time editing,[15] and hosts servers that simulate dynamic battlefields.[16][17][18]
DCS World acts as a unified modular platform, in contrast to previous installments in the series which were standalone products. This allows users of different modules to switch between aircraft and play together within a single game client. The platform also allows third-party developers to publish modules through Eagle Dynamics' storefront. Community mods have also been produced, such as the A-4E,[19] C-130J,[20] T-45C,[21] and UH-60L.[22]
The United States Air Force's 355th Training Squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB makes use of DCS as an instrument and weapons-system trainer for the A-10C. The use of virtual reality headsets is preferred for a more immersive experience.[24]
Before the Mirage 2000C was retired in 2022, the Armee de l'Air used DCS for both instrument and tactical training with the M-2000C module, citing insufficient numbers of professional simulators.[25]
In November 2015, DCS World 2.0 was released as an open alpha while 1.5 continued to be supported as a stable release. 2.0 added support for more detailed terrain including the Nevada Test and Training Range map.[52][53] DCS World 2.1 was released in 2017 and added support for deferred shading and physically based rendering,[54] followed by DCS World 2.2 that same year.[55] The next major release, DCS World 2.5, added an improved Caucasus map in 2018.[56] 2.5 replaced 1.5 as the stable release version coinciding with a Steam release.[57]
DCS World 2.7 was released as an open beta in April 2021, with new weather and clouds as well as improved piston engine simulation.[58][59] 2.7 became the stable release in June of that year.[60] DCS World 2.8 was released as an open beta in October 2022, improving atmospheric effects and AI basic fighter maneuvers.[61] DCS World 2.9 was released as an open beta in October 2023, featuring support for Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR, improvements to multiplayer voice chat, higher fidelity data link and radar simulation, and new graphics and camera effects.[62]
Over the course of development, modules have introduced new features to the simulator including improved flight models[63][64] and damage models,[65] multi-crew aircraft with multiple players or AI acting as crew[66] and enhanced FLIR simulation.[67]
On April 26, 2024, Eagle Dynamics announced the development of Flaming Cliffs 2024. The pack is set to contain the F-5E Tiger, F-86F Sabre, and MiG-15bis. It is expected to feature a professional flight model and updated 3D modelling comparable to the 2024 modelling and texturing update of Flaming Cliffs 3 that occurred in March of 2024. The pack is available for a small upgrade fee to customers who own Flaming Cliffs 3, as well as being sold separately.[68]
A large portion of aircraft and terrains in the DCS World ecosystem are developed by companies officially licensed by Eagle Dynamics to produce modules for the simulator. Third parties also create single-player campaigns. Third party content is sold through Eagle Dynamics' storefronts on their eShop and Steam.
In 2018, third party developer VEAO ceased development of their Hawk module.[69] Eagle Dynamics offered full refunds to customers and introduced a code escrow policy for future third party agreements.
