Hello dear readers!

I hope our strange new world has been treating you well since my last update. It seems like a long time has passed since April 2020!

Since that last email, I've edited more books, including a fun anthology of dinosaur stories, APEX: World of Dinosaurs, which features a short story I wrote about an island in the Bermuda Triangle where dinosaurs still roam. (It ties in with a campaign setting I also wrote, as featured in APEX: Astounding Thrills.) If you're interested, you can go give them a peek!

But in even more exciting news, the anthology I've been editing with the phenomenal Julia Rios, Bridge to Elsewhere, is now live on Kickstarter! We have such an amazing group of writers all coming together to tell stories about spaceships and the people who live on them. Here's the cover text:

A spaceship's nothing without her crew.

In the vastness of space, there's room for all types of adventures. Scientists seek to solve the mysteries of the universe. Explorers look for lost alien civilizations or new worlds to support life. Planet builders and planet smugglers create life and steal worlds. And some human spacefarers navigate with the help (or hindrance) of feline or feathered companions. The universe contains infinite possibilities—but while space is limitless, it's the people who travel it that make their adventures worth reading. And many of the decisions they make happen on the bridge of a spaceship.

On these pages, you will meet:

  • Revolutionaries struggling toward a better life.
  • AI who take matters into their own, robotic hands.
  • Cats and their crews (including those who clean the litterboxes).
  • Voyagers seeking lost homeworlds or new worlds where they can begin again.
  • New crews learning to work together.
  • Astronauts facing their last moments in the vastness of space.
  • And more.

A ship is only as good as her crew. These are their stories.

I hope you'll come check out the Kickstarter and share the link around to others who might be interested in tales of derring-do (in space!), cats and peahens who navigate the cosmos, and even an errant improv crew. It's going to be such a great collection, and I'm so happy to share it with all of you.

Wishing you all a wonderful last two months of 2021. May the days ahead be brighter!

Cheers,

Alana
