Ciao everyone,

a new repository has been created for hosting ALAN games:

The repository doesn’t contain any games yet, but I’ve setup its Discussion area so that anyone interested in actively participating to the project can join in and share his/her ideas on how we should proceed with the next steps:

GitHub “Discussions” are like a mini-forum, where users can start a new discussion thread under a specific category. In order to participate, you’ll need a GitHub user account — in case you don’t already have one, you should consider creating it since all the ALAN source projects are now hosted on GitHub.

Creating a GitHub account is totally free, and you can even log-in using your Google account, which you most likely have since you’re a member of this Google Group.

All discussions pertaining to the GitHub games archive should probably move to the repository Discussions from now on, since we’ll be mostly dealing with technical details which might not be in the general interest of this discussion lists — although any news or discussions regarding game authors, and republishing their games, should also be notified here, since such topics are of general interest to the list.

Discussions regarding the online database and submission of missing ALAN games to the IF Archive might be discussed at the new repository and/or in this list.

I just wanted to make sure that everyone is correctly informed about the possible alternative places where the discussion that started here might be explored further, to ensure that the long-standing ALAN tradition of involving all its members in the decision taking process in honoured, and that no one is left out of the process.

At the same time, I think that this list should not be burdened with excessive technical discussions that are not directly relevant to using ALAN.
