Brenda,

She's from NV and Milagros is a coffee shop on Main St. That seems
simple enough.

As for accomadations, her son lives here but is renting a room and the
renters don't want to get let her stay there because of the DSS. I
certainly have quesions about the situation. My desire to help those
in need and my paranoia are clashing here.

I don't know if there's a shelter or any place that I could direct her
to.

What is DSS?

I'm sorry that I don't have space and it isn't paranoid, just being careful.
I have made some not so smart decisions around issues like this.

La Puente, the homeless shelter at 911 State Ave. (not State Street!) will usually allow someone who is transient to stay there for 10 days to two weeks for free.  Leon.

DSS is Division of Social Services--there are a lot of sub-agencies working under them, their main building for the Valley is located south next to the mental health and county administration buildings off the airport road.  Leon.
