Sib. 6.2: Numbers in little boxes beside the title - song numbers
Posted by Dan - 15 Jan 02:15AM Hide picture Okay, so I'm working on a musical and I would like to be able to put numbers in the score beside the title, so it's easy to see where each piece of music falls in the show, as demonstrated by the photo. Is there a special way to do this?

I've created a new text style called Song Number. Copy and paste it into your score, and you'd be able to use it from the Create->Text->Other System Text menu. If you want to change the size or whatever, use House Style->Edit Text Styles.

The use the properties window to adjust the size - I found about size 30 is good for something like this.
Then simply drag the box into the position you want.

I have 28 2/4 bars of same note minims (half notes) tied together in groups of 4 bars at a time. I would like to put the numbers 1 - 28 above the bars to aid the performer in counting. I don't want this to interfere with the overall bar numbering scheme.
The Number Bars plugin allows you to control the appearance of the numbers, how frequently the bars should be numbered, and where the bars should be positioned. It has several nice features, including the ability to add a prefix and suffix character, as well as options to reset the counter at double barlines and rehearsal marks, etc.

Trying to put measure numbers into a big band drum part I get to the stage where I highlighted the region then try to run the plug-in and I keep getting this message
no measures repeated at least three times were found
Not sure why
