Muhammad Ar Rasulallah(ﻣﺤﻤﺪ
We are now going to look at the second part of the Kalimah, which is
Muhammad Ar Rasulallah. This means that Muhammad (صلي الله
عليه و سلم) is the last Messenger and the servant of Allah.
There is no messenger to come after him. He is Muhammad son of
Abdullah, son of Abdul Muttalib, son of Hisham, who was of the Quraish
and the Quraish are of the Arabs. The Arabs are the descendants of
Isma’eel who is the son of Ibraheem (عليه و سلم). He was born
in the holy city of Makkah and it was at the age of 40 when he was
commanded (by Allah) to preach to the Arabs about the oneness of Allah.
He stayed 13 years in Makkah preaching and although he and his
companions were severely tortured and had their wealth usurped they did
not fight back. After these 13 years Muhammad
و سلم) and his companions migrated to Madinah (the Hijra) which is
about 600km away from Makkah. In Madinah an Islamic State was
established in which the system of law was completed. He fought several
battles against the Pagan Arabs, eventually defeating them by
conquering Makkah in the 8th year of the Hijra. Afterwards emissaries
from several tribes of the Arabian Peninsula swore allegiance to him
and embraced Islam. Two years after conquering Makkah he died and was
buried in Madinah where his grave exists to this day.
Conditions of Muhammad Ar Rasulallah
1) Believing in everything he says: Whatever the Prophet (صلي
الله عليه و سلم) has said is true. It is upon the Muslim to
have complete belief in what he said.
2) Following him in what he has ordered: When the Prophet Muhammad
(صلي الله عليه و سلم) orders anything we must obey him.
3) Staying away from that which he has forbidden: It is binding upon
the Muslim to stay away from a matter once Allah or the Rasul (صلي
الله عليه و سلم) declares a matter unlawful. In a hadeeth
that is sound, the Prophet Muhammad
سلم) said: “Whatever I have ordered you to stay away from , stay
away from it and what I have told you to do, do it to the best of your
ability.” This hadeeth covers conditions 1 and 2.
4) Not to worship Allah except by what he has made law: The evidence
for this is given in the Hadith narrated by ‘Aisha: “Whoever
innovates in this religion (which is not of it) will have his action
rejected” [Bukhari & Muslim]

Pillars of Muhammad Ar Rasulallah
(1) Believing he is a servant of Allah and his Messenger (صلي
الله عليه و سلم); he is only a man and is not to be
worshipped.

(2) Believing that he was given a message which is the Holy Qur’an.

We must also know my dear brothers and sisters that it is not for us to
pick and choose whatever confirms with our desires from the Sunnah and
to throw away what does not confirm with our desires. But we have to
take everything that the Prophet
has given us.
As Allah said
“It is not for a believing man or a woman if Allah and his Rasul have
decreed a matter to prefer something in preference to what they have
ordered” (33:36).
Allah also said
“Whoever follows the Rasul has followed Allah” (4:80)
Hence when some brothers and sisters say “I don’t believe in that
Hadeeth” we must advise them that Allah has ordered us to obey his
Prophet (صلي الله عليه و سلم) in more than thirty verses
of the Holy Qur’an. The Prophet (صلي الله عليه و سلم)
had predicted that there will be from his nation those who when an
order or prohibition is given to them from a hadeeth they will say that
they do not know, and that whatever they found in the Qur’an they
would follow (narrated by Tirmidhee) And in another narration they will
say “What we find in it (the Qur’an) being Haraam we make it Haraam
and that of which we find is Halaal we make it Halaal, yet I have been
sent with the Qur’an and something like it” And in another
narration “What the Prophet (صلي الله عليه و سلم) has
made Haraam is like what Allah has made Haraam”
Hence it is upon us my dear brothers and sisters to realise that Islam
is the Sunnah and the Sunnah is Islam and one cannot stand up without
the other. This statement establishes that Islam cannot be practised
correctly without following the guidance of the Prophet (صلي
Allah said
“Indeed we have sent down a remembrance (the Sunnah) to clarify what
has been sent down (the Qur’an)” (16:44)
I also ask the people who hold the opinion that acceptance of a hadeeth
is according to your whims and fancies as to how they Pray, Fast, Make
Hajj, Marry, Divorce and read Qur’an with proper Tajweed without
following the Prophet?
Hence I advise the Brothers and Sisters and especially the leaders to
invite the people to following Allah and His Rasul (صلي الله
And to not be of those who reject the Rasul
(صلي الله عليه و سلم) after he has ordered or forbade a
matter and I end with the Allah’s saying:
قُلْ أَطِيعُواْ اللّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ
فإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ
يُحِبُّ الْكَافِرِينَ
“Say follow Allah and his Rasul and if they turn away indeed Allah
does not like those who disbelieve” (3:32) ■
