Good afternoon, all
I wanted to provide a brief update for your awareness regarding the spring floods, along with information being shared regarding the State’s Individual Assistance application process for impacted households. If you have contacts in the affected communities, please feel free to forward and share!
We are thankful that flooding, thus far, has been minimal. There are still areas of concern, particularly as the temperatures are expected to peak in the high 60’s or low 70’s in the next week.
Thanks for your continued support in monitoring the situation.
Blessings,
Jenni Ragland
Service Extension & Emergency Disaster Services Director
The Salvation Army Alaska Division

· At the present time, there are no immediate Mass Care needs that have been directed to Alaska VOAD partners. As more information is known, we will continue to provide updates.
· NARVOAD and Red Cross are assisting with Manley Hot Springs response. Red Cross is in community, conducting preliminary damage assessments and distribute clean up kits. NARVOAD was able to coordinate flying supplies to Manley Hot Springs to support these efforts and remains on standby for additional support, as needed.
· Red Cross is also deploying teams to Red Devil and Sleetmute to assess needs and complete damage assessments.
In addition to the summary provided in the media release above, there is flooding reported in McGrath. As this is a developing situation, there may be additional information forthcoming.
If you have any questions, give John Ramsey or I a call or reply via email.
Thanks!
Blessings,
Jenni Ragland
