HOWEVER, Assemblyman Traini
said Saturday that he will ask the Mayor about pools during the
business meeting. Mr. Traini is one member of the assembly and he can
not nor should he control the agenda; however, it seems wise for us to
support his sense of urgency by being visibly FOR POOLS
on Tuesday.
I would like to
reiterate the information I sent earlier:
*****For those in the Anchorage Area*****
Assembly Schedule

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25:
- 4:15
p.m. – Groups (students,
parents, triathletes, masters swimmers, etc) picket
for pools on corner of Denali and 36th
- This is rush hour, prime
time for news
and will be noticed by people entering the assembly meeting
- 5 p.m.
– Everyone attends the business meeting in the
Library from 5-6 p.m. Let’s pack the place!
- Mr. Traini will have the
floor right after Mayor’s Comments. The
Assembly members will question Jeff Dillon about pools at this time.
- NOTE: This is NOT an
opportunity for public comment. But please be on hand to
make a strong showing of support for pools and hear for yourself what
Mr.
Dillon has to say.
- Some people may want to
linger
after the meeting in case the media would like perspectives on the
pools other
than the version presented by Mr. Dillon.
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26TH,
Follow U:
- Take notes at the
assembly business meeting. If there are issues you feel were
not addressed or you have opinions that differ from Mr. Dillon’s, now
would be a great time to e-mail the assembly at WW...@ci.anchorage.ak.us or write
letters to the
editor on-line at www.adn.com/help/v-letters/.
FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PUBLIC INPUT ON

The budget process will
be introduced to the assembly on
