Not working in word 2010 (in windows 8)

Dear sir/madam

 I am using windows 2008,...in browsing i can able to write in regional language using aksharamala,but in word...It's not working...even it is not showing boxes( so that i can install complex fonts)...It is utilizing...only theme font (like times new roman..etc) ...I can able to see only English words on the screen...should i need to chage the Theme font in word to use aksharamala??
