Hi there,
I'm reaching out today to invite you to take part in Ohio Linuxfest's
Open Libre Free OLF Conference on December 6, 2025. Let's get together
at the Sonesta Columbus Downtown and worldwide on the internet.

TLDR: Yes! We're back and super excited that we'll get together once again.
Many of you have reached out to the team here or even wondered on your
own, "So, is there going to be an OLF this year?" Well, putting
together one of the oldest user group gatherings for Linux and Free
Software has been challenging since 2020. No matter what, we've never
skipped a year to discuss what is important to all of us, the user
community for 23 years. While 2025 brings us all a different climate,
we are steadfast in the mission of educating the general public about
free software as a non-profit with an all volunteer team. We thank
you, yes you, for making this all possible. Because you have attended,
in person or virtually, OLF Conference, we continue.
You'll notice some differences this year while offering the high
quality experience the OLF audience deserves.
1. We're focusing on the Saturday experience. This will mean a full
day of talks.
We'll announce our line up soon and many familiar faces are returning.
2. We will have expo tables.
Anyone interested in a table should go to our website > Contribute >
Sponsorship Application
3. We'll have a happy hour on Friday December 5.
It will be an offsite location with great libations available for our
Supporter Pass attendees.
4. Attendee wifi is included with every in-person admission.
This is something that wasn't possible before but we are pleased to be
able to bring this feature.
5. We're across the pedestrian bridge from the big convention center
hotels in the Sonesta.
All of your neighborhood favorites such as North Market are still
within walking distance.
5. You shouldn't feel obligated to stay at the Sonesta hotel.
We know that some folks have reasons to stay elsewhere. That's cool.
But if you need a room on property, Sonesta has you covered.
6. We've streamlined the experience to make it more cost effective
We regret that we will not hold professional training or offer the
Early Penguins track.
Truthfully, the economics of being in a convention center downtown are not easy.
Therefore, we are exploring alternative hosting options for 2026 and beyond.
In the beginning of OLF, we were the user groups who just wanted to
get together for one Saturday. When we pull our resources, everything
is possible. So simply put...
Let's get together.
Alright,
