Thereis loud, crackling sound! I read that usually a damaged or broken cable is usually the cause. But in my case crackling/static sound happens either when the TV is off, or when media is playing through streaming services (both Netflix and Amazon Prime). When I play something via the Youtube app on TV, or via Spotify app, the sound is perfect and I amazed how good these R-41PM sound! I am not sure if the cable is to blame, otherwise i would hear crackling while watching youtube or listening to music.

As a result of this wired situation I am forced to turn off the speakers every time I turn off the TV otherwise the crackling noise is unbearable. To eliminate other causes, I connected the speakers via bluetooth and no issues at all there in any situation. Tried to plug and unplug....same. Also, as soon as I disconnect the cable from the TV the noise goes away. I'm positive the issue is this type of connection, but not sure if the cable itself is the cause or if there is something else I am missing.....


EDIT, SOLVED: With more testing I discovered that Netflix and Prime were using Dolby Audio and not the traditional PCM method. When changing Samsung TV audio settings to PCM, the noise goes away. Even when TV is off. Hope this helps other people running in the same issue as I did.


I found out my Samsung TV does not support Dolby Atomos. Thus, everything like Netflix or Prime which are set by default with Dolby Atomos, produce crackling, while Youtube and Spotify were working fine.

After the initial problem I reported, now my speakers started to pop for no reason when powered and don't work properly anymore. Attached an audio recording...

This happens when the speakers are simply turned on. Not connected to any device whatsoever (so it is not a connection or audio source issue), just the speaker plugged to the wall. I did the factory reset following the provided instruction, no change. I tried to plug them in a different outlet on the wall, same issue...

Understandably, I am very disappointed from the R-41PM that lasted barely one year....Was proud to support a US company but not sure if I will go for the same brand if Klipsch support does not make it right with the warranty.


When loud parts happen in certain movies I get a horrible crackling from my speakers. Same thing happened when I had a cheaper soundbar, the tv speakers, and now I have nicer Yamaha 5.1. I have tested all cables and settings. It's the Cox box squashing the audio signal. I can watch the same movies on Blu-ray and it's not a problem. I have tried all the settings in the audio settings of the box. I have the small bedroom box, just an extension of the contour one in the living room. How can I fix this? I feel like I'm being taken advantage of by just putting up with this and paying each month to listen to my movies crackling and sounding like pure garbage. Please advise.


Are you using PC or MAC? If PC, have you downloaded/installed the current QC ASIO driver? The next steps would be to adjust your sample size until you no longer hear crackling etc., assuming this is occurring while using as USB audio interface?


What outputs are you using? What monitors are you using? Have you tried alternate monitors? Are you experiencing while using headphones? Are you using the OEM power supply? If not, make sure you are providing at least 12v @ 2A etc. Have you backed up and reset the QC? Worst case, email sup...@neuraldsp.com and they will get you resolved quickly.


I had this exact same issue. Sporadic crackle through all outputs. Sometimes a week or so between appearances of the issue. The quality of the power (from the wall) made no difference. Stock power supply vs kioks made no difference. I worked though troubleshooting with support, but eventually had to send the unit in. In the end, it was replaced due to a faulty component.


There are, as many users are probably already aware of, multiple issues that can cause noise. Ranging from dirty power, defective cables, and poor gain staging in a preset, to defective hardware. Just wanted to put this one out there as I remember it causing all manner of mysterious crackling, hissing, and assorted noises for me when I first got my QC - make sure not to have the input level on the I/O page cranked up too high for your guitar. This absolutely introduces all kinds of noise when set improperly. The noise becomes particularly bad as the S/N ratio gets low as the notes trails off. Turning down the input level on the I/O page cleaned things up immediately for me.

I had the same problem 2 months ago which almost made me sell the QC again. We had an upcoming gig and I was in the rehearsal room with my band. We are a cover band in which I play acoustic and electric guitar through the QC on Input 1 and 2.

On output 1 I send the acoustic to the PA. On Output 3 and 4, the guitar then runs stereo to the PA with effects, etc. Suddenly there were always crackling noises which I did not have before. First I thought of a defective cable, then a dead battery on the guitar. I changed all the cables to the PA and in the end I no longer knew what the problem was, because the crackling was gone.


Then the gig came and I was honestly a bit nervous, because we were booked for 4 hours and had almost 60 songs on the setlist. And by the third song the crackling was back. I had to play the whole gig without effects and only with the acoustic guitar directly into the PA. That night it was clear to me that I would sell the QC immediately.


I am having an issue with a crackling noise where the wire to the power supply connects to the wire for the bulb.

Thinking there was an issue with the power supply itself, we replaced the PSU, but still having the same issue.

Wondering if this has happened to anyone else and wondering where to go from here.

We have an 8Ow Chinese laser.


I just recently had this with a 60watt chinese. It was electrically arcing from that same point down to the stepper motor. It is not a good sign at all. Your tube is most likely dead. I removed my tube and found on the back where the electricity was leaking from as there was a big burn mark on the tube. Sorry but perhaps yours is gone too. I tried some extra silicone first to insulate but no luck. So ended up getting new tube and installed last week and all good now no arcing. By the way, the tube i got [cloudray 60-80 watt) is so much better quality and manufacture than the original chinese one, and much more powerful as getting double the cutting speed.


You mean that big bulky connector which connects the two cables?

If so make sure to open it up (of course when laser is off) and check if there is still a solid connection. Signs for a not so solid connection are burn marks because of the arcing.


I own a Samsung UA32N4300AKXXT and I'm using it together with a third party soundbar. The soundbar is making very weird crackling sound when using Tizen apps, BUT only on some apps (f. ex. Amazon Prime Video). Other apps like youtube are just fine. TV and soundbar are hooked up with a toslink cable.


"I had a similar issue, solved by doing what others are saying (set digital audio output to PCM) and then setting the output as TV speakers instead of the digital output itself. I then unplugged the cable and plugged it back in. Suddenly I could hear both from the TV and the speakers. When I switched it to just optical out it only came through the speakers.


I think it may have to do with the fact that I plugged the Toslink cable into the TV while it was still configured for Dolby and bitstream. Replugging it in with PCM set as output caused it to work exactly how I wanted it to!"


I got my Fairphone on Wednesday and noticed that when I unplug the USB charger from the phone, it emits a crackling electricity noise. I thought at first it was the velcro cable tie and removed that but the noise continued. It appears both when I charge through an outlet or a USB connection on my laptop. Even if I disconnect the charger from the outlet first and give it a few seconds before pulling the cable from the phone, the noise still happens.


My very long and futile exchange with support ended with nothing several months ago, so no, no fixes. But, today I've managed to test ALVR, on open source alternative to Oculus Link (it works via USB cable, too) - and it has no audio crackling whatsoever, it's perfect. I would've just ditched Link altogether at this point, if not for vastly superior video quality and lower latency with Oculus Link. Current version of ALVR, sadly, just can't handle as much bitrate as Link can (about 430Mbps for my RTX 2070 Super). And tracking lags noticeably. So Link is still the preferred option, and it still plagued by the audio crackling...


In the meantime, Oculus Virtual Audio Device driver hasn't been updated since 2019. And there is no debug options for audio whatsoever (for reference, in ALVR you can change audio buffer settings). Such shame.

It happens a little when not playing the instrument and the game is just making normal sounds on its own, a lot when I am playing the instrument.



Now, I've played Rocksmith 2014 without issue since the day the game was released. So this is new. Likely the result of a forced update. Pisses me off they release these and they almost always cause some sort of issue. If it ain't broke don't fix it damn it.
