Youth Committee meeting update

Hi Everyone,
Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting yesterday.
Since it is hard for all of us get everyone together in one meeting, we have assigned a primary and secondary adult volunteer to each team. We have also assigned a youth lead for each team. The youth lead will work with the primary (and the secondary if needed) adult volunteer to get their teams organized. Each group can decide when, where and how often they want to meet. The youth lead will also work with the primary adult volunteer to get additional volunteers into their group. The attached spreadsheet contains the activity and the lead information.
I have added the email addresses of the volunteers to the AKKA youth committee Google groups. If you have not received an invitation to join the group please let me know. If you have received the invitation please accept the invitation so that you can start getting the emails related to this group.
If you know of any friends that would like to volunteer please ask them to send a request to join the Google group.
Below are some general guidelines/questions to think about while planning the activities (specifically for competitions).
1. Competition rules – Decide on the rules for the competition.
2. Prizes – What prizes do you want to award? The cooler the prize the more the participation J
3. Maximum number of participants – Is there a limit on the number of people that can compete?
4. Competition duration – Will the competitions be held on all three days or just one day?
5. Activity duration – for how many hours will this activity be offered?
6. Volunteers – How many volunteers will you need?
7. Involving other Kannada Kootas – Is this a team based competition? Do you want teams from other Kannada Kootas to participate? If so then we need to start contacting them so that they can organize a team.
8. Supplies – What kind of supplies are needed and how much will it cost?
9. Fund raising – Is it possible to do some fund raising events to raise money for supplies and prizes?
Finally and most importantly, thank you to everyone for volunteering for this committee, but keep in mind that in volunteering you are offering us a commitment that you would give us your time and effort as much as possible. As you can see we have a lot of exciting things planned and getting it executed is going to be even more fun and exciting. If for whatever reason you are not interested in volunteering or cannot volunteer please let us know now (before the serious work starts).
