Akka Workflow - Stom like topology

Hi,

I am putting my thoughts based on Storm topologies where spout and bolts can be configured and data flow for the system can be created. When building a huge system it gets really apparent that we shall have work flow mechanism of components. One real advantage is that storm topology are fixed but in Akka it can be dynamic. Here components can be Akka Actors and they shall be configured somehow to achieve it.

Please suggest if someone already work on this aspect or there are some alternative to this approach?

Hi Neeraj,

While it is not directly workflow related Akka Streams provides similar functionality. Also it is based on the open reactive-streams initiative (http://www.reactive-streams.org/) that defines standard interfaces to connect independent implementations -- so it might be that eventually Akka Streams and Storm (or Spark, or anything that support this set of APIs) can be connected easily.
