Hi

I look at the messages akka.routing.AddRoutee  and  akka.routing.RemoveRoutee and was wondering why there isn't any restrictions described when to use these messages.
Because I would expect that you should only use these when using a Group.
And especially for the Router versions which doesn't support Group (for example BalancingPool or SmallestMailboxPool)

Is my assumption correct: not to use these messages on Pool routers?

Rob

PS it looks like AddRoutee works with the SmallestMailboxPool but of course the BalancingPool don't work due to the fact that the new self created Routee doesn't share the same mailbox as the routees created by the pool

Yes, they are intended for Group, but as far as I know they work for Pool as well. It can be considered as a hidden feature.

AdjustPoolSize is intended for Pool.
